Bienville….day one.
The four inch Senko was doing some serious damage, they were pounding it!
And, had we been in a crappie tournament, the crowd would have been calling my name…but it wasn’t, so not my best day!
Well, I have learned this is how some days will go when fishing…to accept them as learning opportunities; to not let them beat me. I was in the same general area as the leader Jeff Fader, but just couldn’t get them to bite.
I made an early error by abandoning the game plan I had developed during my research….not the first time I made this mistake….and after hearing Jeff talk…know that I HAD the right plan!
….which is why I am writing these words….
Rule #1 for 2019.
When you launch on an unknown body of water with a developed plan…let that plan fail before trying something new!
I made it exactly .25 miles from the ramp before I was doing something totally different than what I had planned. If there had been some visible stimuli to cause this action(surface action, schools of baitfish), maybe it would have made sense, but none of that existed.
For three days, I had two spots chosen on the map….was one of the first off the ramp…two spots chosen; and turned left instead of right. Turned left when everything I saw on Navionics said right.
….writing it again ‘cause I can be stubborn…
When you launch on an unknown body of water with a developed plan…let that plan fail before trying something new!
…just like in high school when I was asked to write 500 times…
I will pay attention in class.
I will pay attention in class.
I will pay attention….you don’t tell me what to do….
When you launch on an unknown body of water with a developed plan…let that plan fail before trying something new!
Hope I pay more attention now than I did then. It took me 14 years out of high school to realize that college was for me – to pay attention in class….hope it doesn’t take me that long to get this right.
When you launch on an unknown body of water with a developed plan…let that plan fail before trying something new!
When you launch on an unknown body of water with a developed plan…let that plan fail before trying something new!
I will spare y’all the 495 more times….
When you launch on an unknown body of water with a developed plan…let that plan fail before trying something new!
Ok….494…..
Off to day two….
